Established in 1986, the Phoenix Celtic are one of the only Irish Football teams in Australia. Based in Randwick, Sydney the Phoenix currently play in the Eastern Suburbs Football Association Premier and Reserve league grade. The ESFA covers the Sydney area from Bondi through to Maroubra and the season starts in March and ends in September.
Throughout the season, Phoenix FC train on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Eastern suburbs (training normally commences in early February and venues for the 2012 season will be confirmed nearer the time). The ESFA Premier league is a Saturday league with the Reserve games kicking off at 1pm, followed by the First team kicking off at 3pm. After games, refreshments are served at The Duke of Gloucester pub in Randwick.
